Research Interests
Associate Professor Dickson's research, in collaboration with other members of the Neurorepair Group, is focussed on investigating the neuronal response to both trauma and neurodegenerative disease - particularly Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's disease, Dementia with Lewy Bodies and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Motor Neuron Disease). A better understanding of the mechanism underlying these diseases is essential for the development of much need therapeutics for these devastating conditions. She currently co-supervises five PhD students and one honours student working across these areas.
