Vitamin D Deficiency

Vitamin D is required for optimal bone and muscle health and appears to have a wide range of other important functions in the body. Low vitamin D may be associated with several diseases including MS. In Tasmania, the risk of becoming vitamin D deficient is particularly high in winter and spring. For people with MS, those with a higher level of disability are more often vitamin D deficient all year round compared to those with a lower level of disability. A simple blood test can determine your current vitamin D levels.
