2.  Business in mind

Business in Mind is a unique research project focussing on mental health in the small to medium business setting. There are two parts to the research. The first looks at different ways of helping managers and owners of small to medium sized businesses to manage workplace mental health. The second investigates how employees feel about their work environment.

3.  Vitamin D effects on osteoarthritis (VIDEO) study

Recruiting people with knee osteoarthritis between the ages of 50-79 years. This study runs over 2 years and utilises MRI of the knee.

4.  Smoking in Pregnancy: understanding women who smoke during pregnancy

Recruiting women from Hobart and surrounding areas, who are currently pregnant and have smoked or are currently smoking in this pregnancy for an interview. Participants will receive a $35 Coles/Myer gift voucher in recognition of their time.

5.  Blood pressure and vascular function in type II diabetes

Healthy adults and type II diabetes sufferers (with no history of hypertension or cardiovascular disease) are required to undergo comprehensive cardiovascular testing at rest and during light exercise. Information on blood pressure control will be provided to all volunteers.

6.  Mild cognitive impairment longitudinal study

Seeking people in Launceston region aged over 60 years who have been experiencing problems in memory, attention, concentration, word finding, and/or speed of thinking. Participants will undergo an annual comprehensive neuropsychological assessment.

7.  Tasmanian Healthy Brain Project

Participants must be aged between 50 and 70 years, in good health, and have no history of neurological disease or prior brain injury and interested in undertaking studying at the University of Tasmania.  The study is hoping to become the largest non-pharmacological intervention trial for ageing-related cognitive decline and dementia ever attempted in the world.

8. The TAHS

The TAHS is currently the world's largest respiratory research health study. The current study is to follow-up a sub-group of the TAHS cohort (approximately 1,500 individuals) and assess the sensitivity of the lungs, which is common in people with asthma. They are planning to follow-up everyone from the study very soon. So if you think you have been part of TAHS in the past or if you are part of TAHS and have moved recently please contact us.
