Genetics and Cancer

Theme leader: Professor Kathryn Burdon

The Genetics and Cancer team comprises laboratory-based researchers and computational biologists and  biostatisticians.  Their research is aimed at understanding genes that contribute to the development of human disease and this includes eye disease and several types of cancer.  In addition, the team is looking at the immune response in the context of cancer including the Tasmanian devil facial tumour disease, infectious diseases and autoimmune diseases with a particular interest in lupus and multiple sclerosis.
